Stelrad Radiators

There is simply no need to use radiators that are not manufactured in the UK. They are very competitively priced and often rather better quality.
We actually went to visit the Stelrad factory which was really fascinating.
We never stop hearing about how much British Manufacturing and the Dodo have in common however the reality in this country is a rather different story. There are centers of manufacturing all over the country some in hidden away places none of us have ever heard of but all with employees who have taken their ham sandwiches and thermos's to work for the last 45 years with several family members working further down the production line and a wife in accounts.
Its these environments that are churning out items such as radiators as they compete with foreign imports. What we don't all realise though is that these are not all designer, hand crafted radiators - some are the bog standard economy flat panelled radiators you buy in any plumbing merchant and are just as affordable as any foreign import.
Just north of Doncaster on the edge of a sleepy little village a factory site takes delivery of huge rolls of flat steel. The steel is then fed through the production line and pressed, welded, tested, spray painted and packaged - sparks fly men in protective clothing and headgear stand at the key points and have cheery smiles as you pass. We are still manufacturing - not only that, we are happy manufacturing and more importantly pretty good and successful about it.
