The Green Issue

Should we go green? We spent a massive amount of time and energy trying to go down the Biomass/groundsource/airsource heat pumps and solar routes but sadly the cost just couldn't stack up. To power up the house this way we were looking at £220,000 as opposed to nearer £20,000 for a conventional system.

However there are strong arguments to support this decision environmentally. All the components we did use in the boiler room are the best of the best and considerably more efficient than their competition. This in itself saves oil and therefore also saves money. By using the tried and tested products and companies we did, we are unlikely to be replacing any of it for decades to come and that in itself is a benefit to the environment.

Not only that, but technology is moving on fast and the boilers we used should be easily transferable to be able to use Bio Oils as soon as they become nationally available which should be around the corner.
