A stencil is a really versatile tool. By following a few basic guidelines even non-artistic people can apply them. They are so personal; you can reproduce the look of hand-painted wallpaper, furniture and fabrics in any colour and layout you want. Plus, because stencils are meant to be repetitious, they're good value for money, it's also fun and incredibly satisfying!
Helen Morris is one of the founders of mail order stencil company The Stencil Library and author of 'The Stenciled Home' and 'Stencil It'. Her husband, Michael Chippendale is the designer. He has been creating stencils since the 1970's. The Stencil Library offers a huge selection to choose from and will design to commission.
